Karenni artist Lilliana Pyan was born in Kayah State. At the age of five, she immigrated to the United States, lived in Idaho and New Jersey, and now resides in Omaha, Nebraska.

She studied and watched other artists to become a two-dimensional artist with a focus on painting and charcoal art. She creates most of her works in her studio at the university or at home.

Lilliana's works are in the private collection of various collectors in Omaha.

Her next goal is to create life-size paintings, which enable the viewers to perceive the pieces as though they were a real person with all their imperfections. By creating larger works, she will be able to capture the mood of a particular moment in time as well as how the expression or body posture evokes sentimental feelings. Lilliana wants to create art that reflects her cultural and ethnic values as well as the people around her.
